My name is Thomas Hepburn.  I’m glad you dropped by my little vitual office.  There’s not much room in the real one, but out here it goes on forever.  This site is a blog and a site for people interested in getting to know who I am and what I do.

Do you have much time?  In a hurry? I’ll be here whenever you need a break.

Right now I’m working on a re-design of this site.  You need to know this since, the site may-or-may-not-be broken

The old site was made to look out-of-date on purpose.  Not many people got the irony of it.  A modern WordPress  driven site that looked – and felt – old.

Get it? No?

Here’s the old look in a screenshot:

Say goodbye to an old look

It's a passion.  I love to work on websites.  I truely believe that the internet will be a historical event in mankinds history.  thousands of years from now the birth of something greater will be due to the world wide web.   I have this site, a family website, and another website for a co-operative vacation property that I have an interest in.  Beyond this I have a small gathering of clients where I provide support to their websites. Everyone should have their own website. Every person. Every business. Contact me
Carpentry? Finish carpentry.  The fine details and the stuff that everyone can see. That's what I'm into. The birthplace of my carpentry skills is wooden boat repair.  from that starting place I've explored many aspects of construction.  Stone masonry is another trade which I like to work on, but where I live, rocks are not a common building material. Working with my hands is a chance for my mind to rest, but not completely.  There is always math and geometry challenges with woodworking.
Yes, I know.  Computers and carpentry.  Not that uncommon.  Carpentry is what I like to do when I'm not focused on my main career which is working with petroleum related data. Carpentry is a back-up career and a hobby.  Carpentry also seems to be more blog post worthy.

I Build Websites…sometimes

I have 10+ years of web development experience and have been making websites since 1998.  I offer services to small businesses wanting to get started in web marketing and online content management.

For those who have dreams of an e-commerce site, I have some comic relief for you.  A video by Google Analytics Team.  Quite funny.

I support open source initiatives in many different forms.  Many of them I use to create client’s websites and in turn help with debugging and documentation in the community.  See below and click on any icon to take you to the website’s homepage to learn more about it/them.

And here is the only advertisement you will see on this site.  I get direct kick-backs when you host through them…when you click the link and sign up.  Or you can just have me do the dirty work.

Choose me.
